Description
CORVUS SET
Set for integration of CORVUS into your copter, plane or rover;
CORVUS monitors 2 autopilot’s PWM signals and system status and automatically switches controls to the backup autopilot if the primary autopilot reports to be unable to fly (e.g. EKF status) or fails to produce a healthy PWM signal to the ESCs / servos
Battery current/voltage monitoring with the ability to isolate a battery from the electrical system if necessary (reversed current, excessive temperatures) and controls charging/balancing of your batteries
5VDC rails are monitored for voltage and temperature – with the ability to switch off the 5VDC rails
Deep sleep mode (~1mA) including remote/scheduled wake up support
Battery storage mode (charging to 60% capacity to extend your batteries cycle life)
CORVUS provides support for 2 autopilots:
– mavlink support needed (flight mode and arming control must be supported for the backup autopilot, CORVUS doesn’t control the primary autopilot – only monitoring over mavlink)
– motor/servo control must be done by PWM signals (CORVUS only supports PWM signal analyzing – but PWM signal properties can be customized)
– receiver signal is shared by both autopilots
– for charging you need a CC/CV (constant current/constant voltage) source according to your battery voltage (for lixx batteries: 4 cells: 16.8V, 6 cells: 25.2V, 8 cells: 33.6V, 10 cells: 42V) capeable to deliver your desired max charging current for both batteries!
(you can control the charging current in software through Mission Planner – but your charging source should not deliver excessive more than your charging current (e.g. you want to charge 2 x 3000mAh batteries with 1C max – your source should provide 6 ampere and you can reduce your charging current to 50% through Mission Planner)
MAINBOARD:
2 x FFC connector for 2 autopilot inputs with up to 8 x PWM signals, output for RC signal fwd, uart for mavlink communication with autopilot
2 x FFC connector for 2 power boards (current, temperature, battery discharge and charge control)
1 x 8 PWM signal output
2 x 5,23VDC rails; overcurrent protected, voltage monitored, temperature monitored (jst gh 6p)
3 x RC INPUT, SBUS protocol support
2 x 3 – 10 cells balance connector for single cell monitoring and balancing
1 x button input (jst gh 2p)
1 x aux port for buzzer, parachute, external LED (50V 50mA max continuous)
2 x 4 RPM inputs (jst gh 6p)
1 x microSD slot (16GB SD card included)
16 x jumpers for setting battery cells
3 x jumpers for autopilot input and output selection to 5V (3V3 is default when no jumpers set)
1 x usb port (otg only) with otg cable for fw-updates over usb
POWER BOARDS:
1 x 8P FFC connector (to mainboard)
1 x battery in/output (43.5V max, 50 ampere)
1 x battery input charger (43.5V max, 8 ampere)
1 x temperature sensor input
1 x heater/cooler connector
FFC CABLES TO THE AUTOPILOT INCLUDED:
2 x 5cm 18P FFC
2 x 10cm 18P FFC
2 x 15cm 18P reversed FFC
2 x 30cm 18P FFC
FFC CABLES TO THE POWER BOARD INCLUDED:
2 x 5cm 8P FFC
2 x 10cm 8P FFC
2 x 10cm 8P FFC reversed
2 x 20cm 8P FFC reversed
CONNECTOR BOARD:
PIXHAWK Version:
RCIN | SBUS | PWM 1 | PWM 2 | PWM 3 | PWM 4 | PWM 5 | PWM 6 | PWM 7 | PWM 8
This version fits to the older “PIXHAWK” carrier boards with the SBUS pin between RCIN and the PWM ouputs (and any identical pin output)
Cube Version:
RCIN | PWM 1 | PWM 2 | PWM 3 | PWM 4 | PWM 5 | PWM 6 | PWM 7 | PWM 8
This version fits to the standard carrier board (e.g. from HEXCNC) for CUBE autopilots (and any identical pin output)
HEATSINK:
5V rail’s current above 2A or inside enclosures a large heatsink is recommended;
with airflow and lower current consumption no or small heatsink might be enough;
Please be aware that during beta phase this product should only be used with appropiate safety measures for humans and environment!
